Hi I am coming to a point on my 1979 plus8 rebuild where I am thinking about tyres.
I have brought a set of 15x61/2 wheels to put on and was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good make size etc to use.
Thanks Steve.

I fitted a semi slick 225/50/15 Toyo R888, now trying 225/50/15 Yoko A050. Both good. I also used 225/45/15 Toyo but too small diameter and you really do feel every pebble on the road.
Some say 205/60/15 is the best compromise between ride and ...probably dependes on what you use the car for, I fitted mine for the occasional hillclimb.

I like a higher aspect ratio such as 205/65/15 or even 205/70/15. At the moment I would buy Vredestein. General Purpose and a pleasant ride.

Glad to hear that about Vredestein. I've just bought five for my 1980 Plus 8 rebuild. Look lovely with the re-furbished wheels.
Good price from My Tyres and locally fitted

I run Toyo Proxes CF2 205/60 R15 on my 1980 +8 - 3.9 litre. Rims are the Morgan 15 x 6.5J. I cover 7-8k miles per year in the UK and abroad. These wear well, good wet weather grip, current set covered 22k and plenty tread left.

I've got Toyo Proxxes T1-R, not sure what size without a trip to the lock-up but well pleased with the grip, my second Morgan to run on them.

I use Toyo’s as well, I bought them for less than £40 each from Demon Tweeks. My local friendly tyre dealer can’t buy them in for anything like that price so excellent value and a good all round tyre.

Thanks guys, that has given me something to go on. looks like Toyo's might be the way to go it does seem as if Demon Tweets do a good deal.
Thanks again Steve.

Interesting post Terry on what sounds like an interesting Morgan.
