I have finally got my act together and decided I do need a Morgan in my life!
I have viewed one +8, however as posted in another thread, I am a little concerned with the lack of history, so thought I might find someone here, wanting to sell?
I am after a +8 3.9 1999 vintage or newer.
I am suggesting the above as I have been told (?) that from this date these models came with a galvanised chassis and alloy body. Happy to be corrected...however that is the spec I am after.
I am not too bothered the colour - however there are one or two colours I would try and avoid.
I have a reasonable budget and I am not a person to mess someone around. I am a mature private buyer, happy to pay by cash or bank transfer. I live in the West Midlands area but cover a large part of the South/ South West regularly.
Happy for you to send me PM's to get the ball rolling - many thanks

When did the stainless steel scuttle and inner wings come in on the +8?

Would not argue with the above...however, I have seen a couple at dealers (both Morgan and Classic/Specialist garages)...they might be asking for £xxK, however the cars are not selling at the prices advertised!

Agree - some prices are increasing, however most of this is being lead by dealers and classic car garages...many +8 that are being sold privately, can stick for quite a while and prices from this source seem steady? One thing about dealer prices: remember they might advert a car @ £xxK - however the actual sold price can be quite different? A friend of mine has just purchased a TR. The TR specialist had the car up for sale at £35K...he brought it for £27.5K

Good luck ! You will not buy a decent 1999 +8 for under 37 k! One of the members bought a 1999 +8 from a private sale last Novembder up to now he has had to spend 3 k on replacing parts. At least a dealer will give a few months warranty. I will watch with interest !

A lot of the dealers seem to be looking for the soft edge of classics that have not already obtained stupid price status. Given the rise in other cars they see a chance to make a good markup. Given you can get spares and support for them still older Trads make more sense than many.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
