There speaks a man who’s never had to deal with the mountains of 5hit these people leave behind.
I’m pretty sure most people wouldn’t have a problem if they turned up, stayed a couple of weeks then moved off, but the fact is they leave piles of crap in their wake for decent law abiding people to clear up, they take money from the vulnerable with their, tarmac, jet wash and garden clearance scams and they contribute NOTHING to the economy. Every single traveller I’ve had the misfortune to meet has been rude and arrogant.
They want to live outside the economy but are very keen to milk it for every penny they can.
Sorry, I can only go by my own personal experience in my local area,
I guess it’s possible they are all sweetness and light elsewhere........

A couple of years ago when I was working for Morgan, we had a Plus 4 on display courtesy of London Morgan at Bicester Shopping Village and I spent a day there with the car. I was shocked at the abuse the car got from kids clambering over it etc but what was more of a shock were the number of gypsy families who very politely asked if they could sit in the car or even photograph themselves with it.

In the travelling community I wonder what the true Romany families think of some of the other travellers?

Did that happen? Or was it a theoretical possibility?

Well you might think it was to save them from being trampled to death by the tourists and reporters. Or am I thinking of a white sky wonderful world where society was more considerate.

Yes I wondered if it did happen or just more negative propaganda, the couple made some very kind gestures on and after their big day to people less fortunate so I would be surprised.

Well I am disappointed - why airbrush the cracks they just reappear.

No sign on net just lots of suggestions it was proposed by some indeterminate committee.
Need a bit more evidence for me to believe it. Surely the papers would have found at least one of the people moved and paid them enough to say they were moved and returned?

When some travelling people moved into the field diagonally opposite my house we thought it might be fun. First night they burned tyres and set fire to the trees on the bank of the river. Next day they fired golf balls at the house opposite the field breaking his windows. Next day farmer paid up and police moved them on.
Three months later they took over a field further up and claimed they'd lived there for years.a weird claim but the owner still had to get written statements from all locals confirming the travellers had only arrived the week before. Cost lots to get them moved on and now, of course, the field is fenced with high metal stuff very ugly.
Another neighbour saw his tipper van being stolen, jumped in his car and followed. It went to an "encampment". He called police who said nothing could be done as the thieves jump out and vanish, leaving a small child who claims to have done it but as a minor nothing can happen. Neighbour did get his van back, badly damaged and all contents gone.
Not good experiences round here.

Yes like you the anti royalist press and media would have delighted in the bad coverage had it happened -these things cannot be kept quiet.
