There is nothing wrong with the SLK. It is a bit tail heavy, due to the folding metal roof but unless you want to compete in it that is unimportant. I had a 280, with the 3L V6 and it was quick. The ride is a bit harsh at times, but far more refined than a trad Mog and the steering is a bit dull. But a nice roadster for all that. There are a number of AMG 55 ones with the big AMG naturally aspirated V8... they have a better weight distribution due to the big V8, but do eat rear tires... https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/mercedes-amg/slk-55-2012-2016

I may just try to get the front seats reupholstered. .... but it's the getting in and out that hurts most  Don't give up! Probably a really silly question to ask.... however I suffer from back issues having had a prolapsed disc etc a while back.... When the top is down, what technique do you you use to get in it? I virtually stand in mine and then drop down. On the rare occasions when the hood is up, I do struggle getting in and out. Never use the roof I can't get in at all I sit in sideways , then swing my legs inside I've struggled for 5 years, my back won't be getting better ever my knee needs surgery I'm 6'02 but with a 6'7" span and a likewise long body size 12 uk feet........ 15stone I guess the writing is on the wall

Just got home from a trip to see friends in Somerset. A lovely drive up the Fosse Way today. Saw one other Morgan on the road.
A 350 mile weekend - lovely. Great weather for it too.

Did another trip to machynlleth and back, eg 30mile. A bit better as it's only 20mins each way. But that's hardly a reason to keep her I'll use her this year, sort out mot in august, remove the cherished 1966 plate and list in the sales section August this year. looks more and more like a porsche replacement

@Steve If you have problems getting in/out a Morgan you'll probably be posting the same issue on your next low car, be sensible and get a car that does your back a favour. He's right. Look at Abarth 500....terrific fun and the seats are very comfortable. Easy entry. Great car

From Ludlow down the beautiful Wye valley - lunch at book town - bought two books, then on to Tenby. Took some recovering after reading Casino Royale where Bond was strapped naked to a chair with a hole in it and then he was whacked on his test.....  Meeting Linmog tomorrow.
