In the middle of a drive last weekend, my Plus 8 developed a clicking sound -- sounds like the clicking a turn indicator makes when the turn signal has been activated. The clicking is constant whether the turn signal is activated or not. In fact, it is constant whether or not the engine is running. I disconnected the battery so it would not drain while the car is parked. While not a serious problem, it is annoying.

Before I do more damage than good, I thought I should check if anyone has had a similar experience or any suggestions.

Is the clicking coming from the rear of the car, when ignition is on?
If so, I'd suspect a failing fuel pump.
Otherwise, it could be a failing relay - do you have an alarm/immobiliser fitted?

John - since the battery is disconnected now, if you have access to an ammeter you could check the "key-off" battery drain - should only be about 10-20mA (more if you have the optional clock or a radio with presets fitted). If it's more like 100-500mA and the clicking noise returns when the meter is 'in-circuit', suspect a relay or fuel pump

Thanks. Sounds is coming from under the dash so it is likely a relay. I'll check this out over the weekend.
