I was looking for a simple and functional solution for the third brake light and found the following solution: The brake light consists of the LED additional brake light Hella Value Fit 2DA 357 015-0018 (€ 20,- at Amazon) and an angle made of stainless steel, which is adapted to the shape of the brake light and the inclination of the rear. The assembly takes place with the luggage belts. For a better hold, some silicone nubs are attached to the underside of the angle. The power supply is branched off from the existing brake light and is equipped with a waterproof coupling. During operation, both brake lights light up in parallel. The height of the brake light can be individually adjusted by sliding it under the belts.

I want it please :-)
Looks great. I shall copy it.
I have the same car and rack as you. How did you get to the back of the existing light in order to add the connector? I can see two screws at the top of the vertical leather trim panel, plus the bolts holding the rack. But I don't know if those bolts are screws screwed into the wood, or whether they are bolts through the frame? In which case I can't see how to get to the other side!
Thanks Nick

On my 2012 sport with no spare wheel and an inner compartment for the side screens, you need to remove the rack (screwed into wood at the top), remove the blanking panel that sits above the compartment aperture, then remove the horizontal parcel shelf and then the side screen compartment. Then you can trace the wire from the existing third brake light, but it disappears down into the depths and you'll need to cut it. Cut it so that you leave about 6 inches on the 'feed' side to protrude into the parcel shelf area and fit the female connector. You'll probably need to insert a short length of wire onto the remaining tails from the existing lamp, so that the existing light can then also reach into the parcel area and has a male connector. The new light wire can then be trimmed with a male connector to reach the female connector. Leave a bit of slack in the wiring to allow for juggling all the bodywork back into place. These are the feed wires for the existing light coming up from the depths

How did you get to the back of the existing light in order to add the connector? Unfortunately I cannot provide any details: the wiring was done by the dealer before delivery.
