A great forum, so I thought I'd say hello!. We're new Morgan owners, and about to pick up a shiny 4/4 Sport in which next May we'll be doing a 12000 mile trip following the whole of the Mediterranean coast. We'll pass through 18 countries and 40 degree temperatures...so if anyone has any tips we'd love to hear them.

That looks like a stunning trip and I love the idea of "Around the Med" literally being around the Med!

Sounds a great journey and everyone will welcome you in such a cute car. I had a 44 sport last year and the hood was a pain to put up so you are best without it, although you might consider a cover/torneau for parking it in the evenings.
The lack of a spare tyre might be an issue with you travelling through so many countries and so many miles. If the spray can fails not everyone can handle wire wheels.
Don't forget you should grease the steering every thousand miles, your king pins will take a hammering if you are driving all weathers for 12k miles.
All the best on your travels

It is great to see that the Spirit of the Explorer is alive and kicking. arr
What a fantastic Trip and an excellent website.
Are there such things as Punture Proof tyres without that spare wheel?
A tracker and weblink would be good for your followers.
Depending on the roads an Undertray or Sump Guard may be useful.
I would fit some gaiters on those front springs with all of that sand about. work

Hi again, thanks for all the responses and the welcome!
This will indeed be our first Morgan experience, although I've visited the factory and test driven quite a few whilst deciding on engine sizes.
Loved the V6....but the carnet de passage for the trip meant keeping the value down!

We are seriously considering completely leaving the roof behind and just having a tonneau for when parked, and yes, the spare wheel is an issue, but I'm hoping to solve this using a preventative sealant in the tyres before we leave. I heard some great test results of it whilst working for Land Rover a few years ago...just trying to find out which is the best one!
Good tip about the king pins and the springs, we have the support of Russell Paterson Morgan in Scotland and hopefully he'll be able to sort us out with the right stuff to use.

Tony.
