Some of you may remember my grumps about my lil red car's broken chassis. The car is a 2012 and very much loved until the chassis broke. I contacted ISIS motors and asked what to do? I'm the second owner and the car was bought out of state. Bill and Tcherek really went to bat for me. Kudos to Bill and tcherek. A new 2017 chassis arrived at ISIS, WOW! Tcherek did all of the "soft" work and Bill did all of the "hard" work and thanks to Malvern also for stepping up. The car runs and handles like new. Unfortunately, I just had my 84th birthday and am having some trouble getting in and out and may reluctantly may have to move my little darlin on, Sigh.

What a shame. Have you thought of an ejector seat?

Sorry to hear this would it be possible to fit a drop down hinged door in the drivers side of the cockpit similar to a Tiger Moths one ?

Congrats! If I am able to get in and out of my M3W at 84 I will consider that an achievement! My Dad had a ride in mine at 86 (but needed help in and out!)

Unfortunately +8rich the chassis tubes run along the upper side of the M3W preventing the type of door you propose.

Would look nice though

Thanks Mark - I'm not familiar with the M3W layout thumbs.

Even with the doors getting into the front cockpit is not easy:

Place the right foot on to the black reinforced board on the lower wing.
Put your left hand into the grip in front of the rear screen, just inside the front cockpit.
Pull yourself up, put left leg onto seat and with right hand grip the right centre section strut.
Pull other leg into the cockpit and stand on the seat.
Holding both centre section struts move feet from the seat onto the floor, most of your weight will be taken by your hands/arms
Lower yourself into the seat, taking care to avoid sitting on the rear screen.
Strap in, close the doors.

Getting out is largely the reverse, you have to pull yourself out using your arms...

I was 3 years old for my first flight in a Tiger Moth including a loop with my late father and they had to pad the seat out with cushions to make the straps fit.

I lost count of the hours I sat in one either dual or solo but never recall it being a difficulty a bit like the Morgan an instinctive job. It's all in my fathers or my log books somewhere together with the different types flown.
