For those of you that like sailing and the finer art of repairing wooden boats( much like repairing Morgans, but on a grander scale),check out this on U tube. Rebuilding a 1910 Gaff cutter.

I’m already a big fan of the Sampson Boatyard, Leo Goolden’s video blog of his project to rebuild Tally Ho. Brilliant stuff. For such a young fellow he seems to know so much.

Wooden boats a, they require mammoth dedication with lots of money over many years. For a long time I was not only a skipper, but the volunteer co-ordinator for the Norfolk Wherry Trust. At the end of the sailing season, I would take the old girl "Albion" down to Lake Lothing where, through out the cold, wet, winter months we would work away repairing and replacing long, steamed lengths of oak in the hull then re taring it all ready for the next season. It is a very satisfying "hobby" but knocks hell out of poor old joints. 
Here for a good time not a long time!!

Not my work Graham - But I do manage to pick up some scraps of wood off-cuts for the log-burner !
