I am sure that the stock injectors will have the capacity to run at a higher Duty Cycle, which is what will be needed to keep the AFR's under control for the bigger 128cu/in displacement. The ECU would need the appropriate setup done on a dyno and the operator will be able to say whether it's within the parameters needed for safe and performant motoring. If the stock injectors cannot spit fast enough, then the next size up will be required.

Love the idea of 128 motor but worry about the rest of the drive chain! Lack of traction might be a factor as well!!!

Lack of traction might be a factor as well!!! +1 While I love and appreciate the challenge of making a quick car faster, a M3W will never be a "fast car", and given the number of marginal components and design in the current drive-train, chassis, and tire contact patch, it seems somewhat futile. Seems like you'll always be learning about what will break next. Alas, it would be great if Morgan was asking the same questions... I very much like the Stage 1 kit on my car, as it makes it run much better I believe, but I'd be hard pressed to tell if it's any faster. It may be, but that's not why I bought it in the first place. That said, I love to read about the experiences with getting more power, and that's what's great about this forum, the diversity in interest and the resultant entertaining, informative, and polite discourse!

Skullmog, traction isn’t a problem with the Avon CR6ZZ. Does jack the back end up a bit, but hey, that’s good for speed humps 😀

Therein lies the problem. The stage 1 fixes some problems. Stage 2 really makes the morgan much more driveable and linear from a power delivery standpoint. The motor runs so much better in the sub 3k rpm range and feels like the above 3k. Once you do stage 2 the cost to stage 3 does not seem that high so you say hey why not. That is the dilemma. Though this is likely the case of stopping while you are ahead kind of thing. I am just exploring as there is really limited info out there. Ken

WarBird - How have you found the Avon CR6ZZ in the wet ? I am looking to fit some on a Cobra, but there is a suggestion on the AC owners club forum that they are excellent in the dry / damp but not good at clearing standing water.

The only time I’ve used the CR6ZZR in the wet was at Loton Park hill climb in April. The newish tarmac was really slippery for everyone, but I certainly wouldn’t say the CR6ZZR was less grippy than the BluEarth standard tyre. I did record my fastest ever wet 0-64 feet times off the start line 😀
It is far far superior in the dry to any of my previous tyres
I don’t think it’s rained since Loton Park 😂

WarBird - How have you found the Avon CR6ZZ in the wet ? I am looking to fit some on a Cobra, but there is a suggestion on the AC owners club forum that they are excellent in the dry / damp but not good at clearing standing water. I had a set on my previous 2.0L 4/4 Anniversary and I didn't like them at all. They were half worn, which may have made a difference, but we came back from holiday over the Scottish Highlands in torrential rain, and they were a real handful, especially when crossing running water. Because the Morgan was agile and with modest power, it was OK, but needed ultimate concentration, and sometimes it felt like we were floating on the surface......... Although I didn't want a set on my current Plus 4 for that reason, a long story resulted in me having a set. Bear in mind that there are different compounds, I think three. Visually these tyres differ from the previous set in that the centre groove is zigzag, whereas before it was straight. I don't know if the compound is different but I suspect it is. Because these tyres are very different in the wet. We've done a lot of miles in torrential rain and not once have they felt like the previous set. I don't think it's down to one zigzag groove, but I do suspect a different compound. They have remarkable grip in the dry, and I'm very happy with them in the wet............
