Good luck Phil.
But I don't know how thoroughly they inspect the rest of the car.

I’m booked in for Monday. Will take all day to repair
This is all a bit scary, as unlike Phil, I haven’t noticed any change in the steering or feel of my car
I’m going to give the rest of the car a thorough inspection at the weekend, but I know I don’t have any visible cracks at the well known weak spots, but there is a very frustrating noise at the rear. Sounds like stones being pinged against the bulkhead, but this doesn’t seem to be the actual case as far as i can tell
Will keep you posted

Quick off the mark there Austin, well done - you'll get yours fixed before mine Maybe my wandering steering is due to another broken something somewhere, but the crack is big so let's how it feels after Thursday....

Rog that's great news, fabulous to see this level of support. "These cars are simply amazing"

Mines all fixed now 😀 Dropped it off just after 8am. All done by 2.30, including a repair to the bevel box bracket where the chassis had cracked at the weld on the pulley side....something else worth checking!
Great service from MMC and I even got to have a ride in another three wheeler paying a visit to the factory.....a Carver One.....I couldn’t stop giggling 😂

Just looked at ours which looks clear (to the naked eye at least).
Our M3W is a very early 2012 model but the chassis was replaced in 2015 because of a big crack near the upper wishbone mount - it therefore now has the integrated welded brace rather than the bolt-in brace and has only 4 or 5 thousand miles on the new chassis.
What is the current experience of cracking in the vertical tube? Looking through this thread, this cracking seems (so far) to be occurring in older higher mileage cars with original chassis (most presumably now with the bolt in brace) - is that the case??
Is it worth collecting some more systematic data on the incidents or are MMC giving any indications to those who have taken their cars for fixing.
As a community, we want/need to know if it is a risk for all versions after a certain mileage or for more specific versions of the car.
Part of our concern arises in the context of our 1500-2000 mile tour scheduled for mid Aug to early Sept going from northern Spain through France/Switzerland to Grindelwald for the Treffen and then back to the UK. However, the only realistic mitigation for chassis problems on this kind of trip is good breakdown cover!!

Since I first found my crack I am aware of 7 cars in total with cracked vertical chassis tubes all cars were delivered in 2013 and have covered 12000 miles or more. 2 cars had cracks in both sides. I believe all these cars have the bolt in brace. These cars are all going to be repaired with the revised wishbone mount, looking at some of the other posts in this topic it seems there have been other early cars with similar cracks but also had cracks in the upper chassis tubes and have had replacement chassis.

Simply amazing alright That's exactly why I posted in the first place to make sure owners check their cars, an article will also be in the MTWC magazine for those who are not on TM.
