Summer in the UK now. This will surely sell or is the market that tough? The market is very buoyant, however - it is a market within "a market" at the moment i.e. certain cars are really "it" and dealers (classic and sports) flock to the current darlings of the car and classic car world and these become in-vogue. If you are selling a second hand car for £25k+ privately the number of potential buyers with this (not inconsiderable) amount of disposable cash - is quite a low number. Factor in a specialist car like a Morgan (that is a non essential to family transport requirements) and selling becomes tough? One fact that I had also not considered: when buying a new "modern car" - 85% are now purchased on a PCP - i.e. a small up front deposit and 36 month, totally palatable payments...as the majority of the public just cannot afford to through down the whole lump sump in one go - like we used to? Factor in the hype/marketing that classic car dealers provide (oh and the security of buying from them) and buying or selling privately is certainly a much lower activity than it was 15 years ago! In the last month, three Morgans being sold privately (one on the For Sale section within TM) are now up for sale @ Morgan dealers...so did these owners have to "accept" what dealers are offering and had no choice but to go down this route...I guess so? Having said all the above - I am still in the market for throwing money at a good 8+...preferably buying it privately......ha!

Yes, I agree with most of what you say. Especially the finance thing. Same in Lotus circles where blokes trying to sell nearly new cars are stuffed because of the finance packages offered on brand new cars. It seems people would rather pay a much heftier screen price to get it on the drip.
I was hoping warranty wouldn't be an issue on this car as it still has a good wedge of it left with Morgan.
I'm just glad it's not a distressed sale and I don't have to give the car away to a dealer. Far rather a straight forward genuine private guy have it at similar money.......and therein lies the problem lol, trying to find one.

As an economic observer from "Downunder" it seems things are fairly tough in the UK at the moment and the shadow of Brexit hangs heavily on consumer confidence. Regrettably, it will be some time before this is resolved. On the issue of a good +8, I could not agree with you more MDS61 and I regret to report there are no cheap ones in any condition here.

It's not only the car market that is suffering, I'm currently trying to sell a residential Park Home in Devon (don't ask!) and having had it on the market since April for £120k I have just reduced it by over £20k to try and get some interest. The agent has had just 2 viewings in that time.
I feel for you Kenny. On the brighter side, for me anyway, I have taken a non refundable deposit on the Seven I mentioned to you.

Glad the 7 has sold Paul, on paper that was a tricky sale for what is undoubtedly a nice car. We too have another place on the market too, albeit in spain that we've just had to knock 40k off, so it's not just the UK either.
As I said earlier thankfully it's not an urgent sale that's required cash wise, more of clear the garage for the next one sort of thing.
For a brand new motor in all but name it's now the cheapest of the 7 available.......ranging from 42k, through to 40k for 16 platers through to mine at 36.5k. It'll go eventually, everything does.

Good to hear its gone
All GOOD cars will find the buyer eventually, my 70th Anniversary which had no hits on this site, sold within 2 days of my ad appearing on the carandclassic web site for a sum far exceeding the offer over price of £27k.
The problem now is what do you replace the Morgan with which I am finding difficult
