Took the Speedster down to Salisbury on Friday late afternoon. Left Reading in bright sunshine. By Amesbury people were shouting out of the window that it was “ not weather for a convertible”
Three miles later the SWMBO and I were parked up on a verge UNDER the storm cover!! laugh2

It was that damp. umbrella

We got a lot of cheery waves.

Note to self. No matter how good it looks- it’s England. Take the hood.

Putting the hood up and down when it's showery is a right faff. Much easier to carry a golfing umbrella, then it's dead easy to stop for a few minutes and let the storm pass.

Yes- the previous owner had a totally detachable hood made which sits in a bag and Is strapped to the luggage rack- when I take it!

Will need to take up golf and get a brolly.

It happened to us on the way to the Le Mans Classic - torrential rain and we had no option but to keep going as were were on the autoroute with nowhere to pull over. Got absolutely soaked - and we were not the only ones!!

It happens. We just laugh it off, and rarely stop. What fun!

Had to stop- couldn’t actually see! Decided it was just too dangerous to keep on guessing where the central line was.

Yep. Coming back from France last year the weather was fine when I came off the tunnel. It started to rain just as I passed Chievely services on the M4 and by the time I got to the Swindon junction I was absolutely drenched. There wasn't any point in stopping, so I just carried on, laughing all the way.

After all, human skin is 100% waterproof, so you never get really wet.
