Then you must have taken out one of the premium subscriptions before 1st June 2017? As long as you keep paying, the images will remain visible until the end of the year.

No subscriptions.

The browser extensions work just fine and I can see PB images on TM. I see no reason to close the free account for now and lose access to the pics, unless I’ve missed something?

I would agree that there is no need to close your account. At the very least you can recover all your photos. Most other people won't be able to see them unless they have the extension, and it is always possible that PB could close up this loophole, so for the future it would be best to use another service. You could also recover your existing images and place them on another service.

Entirely up to you whether or not you want to try http://tm-img.com/ which we set up specifically for Talk Morgan members. Instructions for use here. It is free for all TM members and like TM is financed by voluntary donations.

It wasn’t an issue for me to close my account, as all of the photos I had on photobucket I also have on the cloud.

I might just say what a joy it is on tm-img, not being bombarded with pop-ups whilst you upload. In the time it took me to delete my photo bucket account I was positively peppered with them.

Ah I see. I misunderstood your original comment that your pictures were still visible, I didn't realise you meant with the browser plug-in. The Chrome extension has already broken once and it won't take much for PB to close the loophole for good.

I'd also encourage everyone to make sure they have copies of anything on Botophuckit. Their terms and conditions already allow them to delete all the pictures in free accounts at any time without notice, and that's assuming the company doesn't collapse first.

sorry, didn't mean 'to put the cat amongst the pigeons' with this.

Like many others, I am using the TM library which is a joy (thanks Peter thumbs ).

I just thought it might help a few folk who are trying to update their old 'how to..' posts with a reminder of which photo's they originally used.

I certainly won't be giving PB any of my dosh..... swear

Sorry Ian I should have explained that I have the plug-ins

My perspective is that there is benefit to TM by keeping an account open. The historical embedded links within TM to PB are lost forever when an account is scrubbed. At least for now the browser plug-in appear to be maintaining the continuity and there is always the hope that PB may not shoot themselves again in the other foot.

Or you can pay $99 a year for "none professional use, including 3rd party hosting"

I had an e-mail from them this week offering the new service. I suspect that their attempt to raid the wallets of users has not generated the cash flow expected.
But now we have our own hosting solution, I have no need of their "help".

They shouldn't have been so greedy.

Had they offered a $5.00 a month fee I'd have probably paid up. Now they get nothing.

Well well, now they are offering up to 50Gb for $5.83 a month, billed as $70.00 a year.

From their e-mail..."Photobucket now offers new, low cost subscription packages to better serve photographers, forum and blog owners, and online merchants. Need more storage, or want to host your images online? We have what you need!"

I'm not going to bite...until I can pay monthly.

I don't forget that easily, and will never use them again.

One chance........
