Same with mine too.... the petrol tank had a very small split in the welded seam and needed to be replaced.

Considering the age of many Morgans it is not surprising that some systems suffer perishing and deterioration. Rubber hardens and cracks. Wiring connectors corrode etc. It is worth checking and doing replacements. The wiring under the front wheel arches is particularly heavily exposed as I have found out. Bullet connectors corroded badly so replaced and shrink wrapped to seal.
Wintertime is a good time for these projects, in a decent garage!

Yes mine is a fairly new car too.... replaced under warranty (just).
