I agree the gangster roof looks superb and the points regarding it being very quick to put up and that a storm cover for if it is left out in very bad weather is a good option but I was hoping some retrofit seals or some other solution might have been found.

I still love the look of the hood though so don't want to ruin it so will just have to live with it being an old dribbler like myself I suppose!

Dealer warned me off any Heath Robinson jobs as it would affect the value of the car.

I bought a S1 a year ago after 40 yrs of +8s. I have loved every moment with it for the last year.
When I take friends out in it I put it in 6th gear at 30 MPH and tootle along, they are all amazed that it is so smooth and easy especially when I touch the throttle and it glides away with no fuss at all. The other side of the coin is booting it through the gears and pinning your eyeballs to the back of your head.

Welcome To S1 world Kevin ... and greeting from just across the water in NI ... I am just over two years and 10,000 miles in and after a couple of months of fettling it has been great.

Your roof is the same as mine ... superb look but not a great seal. I have found it pretty good under way in rain with the seals well pushed over, but rubbish in standing rain ... storm cover important.

Fabulous cars, had my S1 for nearly 2 years & it's the first car I've ever owned that I never intend to sell unless I'm to old to drive. Smiles with every mile. Regarding the door window gap, I'd love to only have a 1/4" gap.... cockpit cover & microfibre cloths are the answer

Thanks guys. Sorry for not replying sooner but still on holiday in the sun unfortunately without the Aero.

She's on holiday in the dealers at the moment getting the shuddering brakes sorted but while in there we noticed the seal on the drivers side has actually completely split 3 inches back from the top of the screen.

Dealer is trying to see if seals can be replaced and the cost but if anyone has done this any advice would be appreciated.

My wife says I've spent the whole holiday watching Aero videos on YouTube just to hear that noise!

Let me know if you do get across Ian as would be nice to see another Aero as mine was the first I've ever seen in Scotland and dealer said he is only aware of 10 of them.

If that's the dealer in Perth … Ross? my brother in law knows him well … when I enquired about whether it was worth buying an S1 he said 'a bad one is bad but a good one is the dog's b^ll^ck5!!' … thankfully mine has been great! woof!
