Other Morgan models have this light on the dashboard.

My 2014 4/4 also has a light for the immobiliser, which is blinking in the way the text in your link describes. But you only see it in the very dark and only indirectly as a reflection - preferably with your head in the footwell. On our LHD cars right above the pedals.

Ah, thanks, I'll turn off the lights in the garage, close the door and dive head first into the footwell grin2

I hope nobody shows up and asks what I am doing there wine

Good luck with this - my 2009 Sport immobiliser LED was just dangling at the back of the dash and I only found it when the windscreen washer pipes fell off and I removed the fibre board. The wires needed lengthening to fit the holder so I did just what MMC couldn't manage to do.

I replaced the liquorice water pipes at the same time.

I had a similar problem about a year ago. When I wanted to drive home from a tourist destination, the engine did not start anymore. When I turned the key, nothing happened. Nothing! Have tried it over and over again (maybe 50 times). I tried to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. Nothing helped, the starter did not move. Thought on a broken battery and called the breakdown service. When I was waiting for the breakdown service, I tried again and suddenly, the engine started immediately. The breakdown service was canceled and I drove home without problems. I've never had a problem like this, since then. confused2

My flashing red led is visable under the LHS dash. (RHD car). When my key refered to above was playing up I often found that taking it out of the ignition & holding it a full arm reach away from the ignition, then trying again got it going. But not always. (Note my second key is still behaving)

Ok, I found the flashing light hidden high behind the glove box.

But I also found something else: I found the problem!!!!

The fuse of the wiper was blown. I did not notice that because usually I drive the car only in the dry and everything else worked.

There must be some connection between the wiper fuse / power supply and the immobiliser resulting in the strange behaviour described earlier. I am an engineer and could not imagine such a relation, but it's a Morgan.....

Thanks again to all for your support and hints.

Wolfgang, I don’t have a Ford engine, but have the Rover V8 with Gems system. It has a red dashboard light for the immobiliser. There is also a faint audible click when turning it off with the key fob. The EML lights up when it goes off after being non-illuminated to show the immobiliser is “on”. It goes out when the engine starts.
Your car should have a similar red light...maybe UNDER the dash as some have found here.
