A very good point.

I wonder if this rumoured modernisation might open new export markets? Even so, pricing is key - Morgan are, in my opinion, at the upper edge on their pricing compared to other cars that weekend petrol heads might consider.

Porsche start at 40k and it doesn't affect their high end demand.

Trads need to get a little bigger too i think, for easier touring. younger folk will tire quickly of the current constraints. Cars are getting bigger and 'easier'. Unfortunately i suspect the next Elise will be bigger, and that saddens me. The Morgan is no Lotus or Caterham though, so more space (and safety) is appropriate.
<heretic alert> i have suggested to SWMBO that we chop the Mog in for something else more practical, like a Chimaera, but she doesn't want a spaceship and stands firm on 'her' Morgan. With people like her, and the many who wave and say hello to us when we're in the Mog, there is a demand for a trad-looking car.

Parisa,

You are absolutely correct, the Memsahib and I took the Moggie to the Helmingham Hall Classic show on Sunday where there are around 800 cars of all types.
We went with our local MG club because they are damn nice people but, parked up in that sea of "classic" MGs, which car was constantly photographed and had people around it, yes the Morgan.
I don't think anyone knows nor cares what's under the bodywork or bonnet, they all just love the looks.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Sweeping statement: the younger generations are not that interested in the sticker price, it's all about how much the monthly cost is.
When I brought my Porsche earlier in the year although I paid cash, I was told a very high percentage of their customers used one of the Porsche financing options.

If MMC invested a little to address the proper lubrication of the sliding pillar the trad might make the 2200s
Lancia used sealed pillar lubrication in the 1920s.

I wouldn'want to see the trads increase in size. I feel that cars are unnecessarily big as it is. Bloated in my opinion..just look at how sylph like some used to be. Jaguars for example.
