Yes most of them do seem to have a grind/rumble, ours did as well. The entire rear suspension is quite tightly mounted to the subframe so you do get road roar and rumble it would appear. I highlighted it during one of quite a few trips back to the factor for our car and was told it was "appropriate for type". Nothing (from that area) has seized so far. I also suspect that new better tyres may change it.

The NVH level in the Coupe is pretty high. We did <4000 miles down to Italy and back and the cruising speed makes a difference. below 80 in 6th it is noisy, above 80 it seems to quiet out a bit, allegedly.

You might want to check the drainage channel around the boot seal (at back point near catch) to see the water runs out in order to avoid a soggy bottom.

Also the engine light (often called the nag lam) can be bought on in the cold so purchase of a decent OBDII unit and phone app is wise. If the engine is not up to temp and the exhausts/cats run cold the light is triggered. Three time off/on/run hard to temp/off and it should go out.

BE WARY of the low sump, consider a Wolf sump guard (use the search box) at next service. Sump pans for this engine are not cheap (said the man on his third) and could mean engine death.

I have the same problem with the main beam and EBD light. All those lights are LEDs and are part of a single unit, it is "dash off" to change it.

No rumble from the diff, but at 36K miles in just over 4 years it should have "run in" by now.

My S5 has died a couple of times at 50 or 60 mph - I *think* it's been in manual mode (it's an auto box) and maybe the revs dropped too low on a light throttle... so probably driver error, enduced by the auto box & monster torque making me feel that I don't have to pay too much attention to *not* stalling.

I wonder if Morgan took off some anti-stall software - or more likely if the light weight of the car stops it working properly?

I don't think I would attribute my cars cut outs to this. Mine was because the amount of water coming in from around the windscreen could have filled a good size swimming pool in a short time.

could be the ECU ? I have similar issue the engine died at 80 mph but switched back on and engine light on dashboard comes on.Happened a few times . Now I cant get it to do it to be able to take it down to Morgan ...could be good news but got a feeling it will be back only happens when the engine gets hot. Good news sensors are BMW bad news ECU is Morgan or maybe other way round not sure !

I dropped the Aero off at MMC to be looked at yesterday due to electrical gremlins.

It’s fine 19 out of 20 drives but odd things like rear lights remaining on or tell tale lights coming on for no reason are an irritant.

Decided it was time for action when the dreaded engine cut off happened a few days ago.

Car drove impeccably down to Malvern, so I was pleased when I handed the car to Mark at servicing with the rear lights still on despite keys removed and light switch off to prove I wasn’t imagining it.

Oh that's always good when the spook in the machine manifests itself on handover.
