Old old moan
whilst trying to sell your pride and joy, why does it take so long to get a "moderator "to update your advert?

Why can't the seller / poster do so ?

I'm about to stick my car on Auto Trader (I hate e blag)

It will be listed and sold before my advert here gets modified ranting

I'd wanted to update my advert re MOT expiry as it passed today
it may take a while woohoo

I would try Car and Classic first .It is a free advert.
But we must remember the Moderator is a volunteer and he has another life besides TM.
We are lucky that this is a free site relying on members donations.
It is a pleasure to use a site with no adverts appearing on the sides.
Looking at your orginal advert that is very long and great pictures.
Would have thought it would have been sold if the right price.
Good luck on other sales sites

Auto Trader, EBay and Pistonheads are the main places most people look for cars. I would give them a go.

I think (might be wrong) if you are a contributing TM member (those that have purple user names) your ‘for sale’ post is automatically posted without any moderator involvement

Hint

Morgan accesories and parts seem to ‘fly off’ the For Sale forum like a Mog handbrake but whole Morgans don’t

In the words of Monty Python’s Holy Grail French rampart guard “we already got one”

Indeed

If you google ‘Morgan or Morgan cars for sale’

Morgan dealers, carandclassic, Autotrader, EBay and PistonHeads all come up on the first page
Although I have a friend and serial classic car buyer and seller and PistonHead forum user and he doesn’t use PistonHeads to sell - he thinks it’s a dead loss

He thinks a nice photo of the car with a good description in the classic car printed mags is the best for any car over £10K

I bought my last Morgan with cash on EBay which had a ‘buy it now’ or ‘nearest offer’ from a private non-classified listing

It worked well for him and me

Well said. Simon has pointed out in the past that the advert section becomes a real target for spammers if left unrestricted. Stewart is correct, contributing members do get to post there without moderator intervention.

There is no obligation to contribute financially to the running costs of this site. But if you've been posting here for over five years and made use of the facility to advertise your car, and yet not felt any compunction to press the donate button even once, some might think that gives you a pretty low entitlement to complain about the service. Just my thoughts.

I hope the poster finds better value from Autotrader.

As I've "contributed " by way of information in 800 plus posts I'm hardly a typical joiner to sell my car.
As I'm leaving the world of Morgan to go Porsche I hope the relevant forums are more "understanding "

I have found better value at eblag and auto trader.
& car and classic (free )

I shall still recommend the new owner of my morgan join TM
hope he enjoys the banter

good bye

Steve mag
cheers
