Sorry guys...if it is a section on the site...it should be a usable facility?
If its not working it needs to be changed, other car forums do not have moderators running something as simple as this...
Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

It is a usable facility. Those of us that contribute, financially, have instant access to add, edit &c. said area. Due to many past instances of section abuse, it is moderated for those that do not show any financial commitment. I suggest you PM the moderators / list owners if you have a problem with that. I am sure you will get a reasoned answer, when they have time outside of very busy lives to answer your query. From my own perspective I think the section should be closed off if it causes them too much work/ grief.

Graham, I know nothing of "contributing financially" (I have never seen an area - on this site- nor have I been asked). However I cannot see that doing so (i.e. contributing) should have any bearing on a Section of the Forum? So I pay or contribute and that makes me a better person...do the moderators get paid therefore? Please note, I am not being argumentative or doubting anyone's hard work. However my suggestion would be - make it an "automated" feature and if it starts to get a bit a tasty and abusive, between contributors....close that thread down. This is a very simple fix....?

There is a serious point here, though. Take the emotion away & it revolves around speed of change on the section. That it needs some 'policing' is never in doubt, but if it takes many days or weeks to change then people won't have confidence in it.
Currently, for Moderators read Moderator and as people have mentioned, he's a busy lad.
Perhaps the answer would be to spread the load a little and utilise a couple of trusty peeps to share the load..?
The vast majority of users do have other lives and to expect a 24/7 moderation facility from one person is unfair.
Contributing to the costs of running the site does bring about a privilege, but it's no guarantee of integrity..!
TM is something that engenders a huge amount of passion, which explains the emotion at times, but it's key quality is that the majority of the time it's self moderating by it's members and contributors & long may this be so.
Just my point of view..
Steve

But now I see that Right = your way Totally uncalled for and to be honest a touch personal? The For Sale/Wanted Section is slow, I (and others) believe it could be better...it is better on other car forum's, that, is my point of reference. Don't make it personal fella...rise above that

TM is the way it's owner wants it and it suits the vast majority of its users. If you don't like it move on and use the preferred sites you mention.

I am with Stuart. I don't usually stick my neck out around things like this but I am afraid it is the way you come over in the thread. You opened the critical discussion.
"Old old moan whilst trying to sell your pride and joy, why does it take so long to get a "moderator "to update your advert?
Why can't the seller / poster do so ?
I'm about to stick my car on Auto Trader (I hate e blag)
It will be listed and sold before my advert here gets modified ranting
I'd wanted to update my advert re MOT expiry as it passed today it may take a while woohoo"
I am all for improvement and have often been critical of the cars themselves openly on the forum but to poke the man that puts his money into our pleasure is OOO.
btw the donate button is on the top right of the menu line. I found it without assistance.
Its not about the "I" it's about the "we"
