Definitely a case of getting your hands dirty, weirdly satisfying, something my more modern suspended cars don't give back so much satisfaction.

I was feeling fine this afternoon. Then I looked at this thread and decided it was time to do the job. Now I feel as if I have pulled every muscle in my body, including a few of which I was not previously aware. Not to mention the mucky aspect.

You’re not supposed to pump your own nipples Peter

But seriously, if you gave an engineer the task of making the task quite difficult but not impossible, you'd have to say "Well done!" In particular, I have always believed that tits should be directionally symmetrical.

I bought a standard grease gun and a cartridge with moly grease. I found it heavy and large, and the flexible hose made it difficult to aim for the nipple and hit it straight on. The nipples were also quite difficult to acsess, very close to the shock. So first I changed the nipples (beware of the length of the threads) to 45 degrees angled ones, that helped, but the gun itself was still to big a chunk under the Morgan. Then I got a swiss Wanner gun on ebay, NOS. Small and neat, high precicion nozzle wich goes easily (straight) on, and just as easy off (slightly levered). Rigid tube makes it easy to get to the nipple and press it on using just one hand. Injecting is no problem, and no spill. Only problem is that filling it can be messy (no cartridge), but I use my old gun to fill up the Wanner. Recommended.

Gives me a chance to inspect the assembly for any other issues.

This is what I do; and it also gives me a chance to clean the rims properly at the same time. Usually takes 7 pumps on the grease gun. Where does it all go?

Amazing how much difference you feel with the front end freshly greased. I pump in grease until I see clean grease coming out each time. It’s messy and needs cleaning after as there is quite a lot pushed out, but I know all the grease in there is fresh. I use Lucius Oils Red and Tacky and some on here recommend it

Brilliant idea as my constantly skinned knuckles will testify. This appears on fleabay but postage is virtually as much as item itself as it has to be shipped from Oz, so looking at £50 or so! Alternatively, a “G-Coupler”, which does a similar job is available on both fleabay & Amazon for about £20 inc. delivery. I have just ordered one.
Cheers from Tasmania 👍🏻😄

Got mine. It’s a slightly larger diameter than the old nozzle but not a problem for king pin access. Works a treat and sooo easy to disconnect. Thanks to Uther for suggesting the concept.
