What are your thoughts on alternative positions for the rear speakers, currently the MMC originals are facing upwards on the rear (parcel?) shelf? No good with the roof being down nearly all of the time, covering them and their output up!
About to have head unit and front speakers changed on Friday and I have in the past exchanged the rears for Pioneer 3 way shelf units on the floor behind the seats, and would ideally like to change these for surface mounted units.
I seem to recall that the rear bulkhead is close to the fuel tank, so not sure if there is enough room to mount there? I will have time tomorrow for a root around the rear cabin, but any ideas for alternative positions would be very welcome.

Knock up some reflectors to sit over them and port the sound forward, works with roof up and down.

David,
I don’t think you’ve got much scope for improvement. With the roof down it sits on the speakers so even up grading the rears you’ll still muffle the sound. I do remember seeing a series 3/4 where the owner had installed a bass speaker in the bulkhead between the seats. This might work if you upgraded the fronts.
Not a easy fix I spent some time looking at what could be done when I had my S4 good luck

RTCC suggested I spoke to Richard Kleiss in Reading who had done several Aeros for them (quite a lot of photos on their website). Might be worth having a chat with them, mine's booked in for a head unit and sub in a couple of weeks, which they recommended as being the "biggest bang for buck".

So new kit in and even with the existing rear Pioneer floor positioned speakers, there is a fantastic improvement in sound. Will see how this is to live with for a while, but will keep Richard Kleiss in mind Gareth.
Milligoon, I did wonder about reflectors, but also have a thick hood cover that would also further reduce any sound.
Very pleased as the installation, handsfree is very neat and the DAB uses the existing electric ariel. Just got to work out how to use it all!

I did speak to Richard Kleiss some time back. They do have a good reputation.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
