Ken,

Not sure of your tour route - do you recognise any of these locations, taken in 1956/57 ?

Yes.
137 mile round trip to Hack Green Nuclear Bunker (near Nantwich) with DonMog and then lunch at the Shroppie Fly in Audlem.

A fascinating time capsule of the Cold War.

A grand day out. In today’s sun, even the A50 was a pleasure in the Morgan.

Just got back from the annual Simon family (minus eldest son whinging about it being cold in the back thank god) trip out to the Blackpool Illuminations

Took a few photos but they are all crap

Super clear night, wrapped up warm and a fab night

Love this Roadster. Nothing like roaring along deserted long straight roads at night

I do some of those look like the Stelvio. Great photos. This year on the way back we avoided the Stelvio & came off the autostrada before Brenner to take the little passes across to Merano. Far better as less traffic = more fun.

The OP may know more. I can tell you that it is the 'Bucknall Special' - a one-off built in 1956 using a (new, factory-supplied) Jaguar XK140 chassis and a 3.4-litre C-type specification engine. Obviously, this lot was then given a coach-built body to look like a much older car. The thing could reputedly do 130mph !!! Yikes.
