Yes, I find that the gaping radiator grill on the Maserati and a number of other cars tends to make them look like bottom feeding fish. What I always find odd is the way car designers all use similar design cues at any one time but then strive to be different and, almost impossibly, individual. Even the latest Volvos have large radiator grilles with concave vertical bars a la the Maserati. It is a dichotomy prevalent in all areas of design I suppose and probably always has been, particularly in the car industry. Makes the Morgan even more interesting though in my view as it doesn't have to follow the fashion cues slavishly. well said.

We looked at a used gull wing AMG, but it failed on one key issue....
The doors are not powered and sitting in the seats neither of us could reach the door pull.
I felt that attaching a length of bailer twine wasn't an acceptable solution!!
Otherwise it was a delight and I agree, it should stand the test of time.

The gull wing is good looking car in many ways but one of the things that stands out for me is the curved windscreen. The tendency for modern cars to integrate very thick raked pillars has led to near flat windscreens and, in my view, serious obstructions to forward /oblique vision. This Merc together with old favourites such as the E-Type, DB5 and Ferrari 250 California etc have beautifully curved windscreens and near vertical pillars that don't obstruct forward vision. Not in the same league, I know, but my old SAAB 900s had the same feature which I really liked, practically and aesthetically. I am not suggested that the Aeros would look better with curved windscreens but the thick frame and flat glass doesn't help the overall appearance in my view so I think windscreens are an important design feature.

And of course you can’t carry straw bales in it. Oh, I don't know. As they wouldn't be able to close the doors anyway you could have one lengthways on the roof between the doors and then a couple crossways over the top.
