I get 30mpg from the roadster in real life. That is in all conditions - would I really get 45 mpg in a 4/4 sport? And what do 100 4/4's do? That white 4/4 1600 that's for sale - is that noticeably heavier/slower/thirstier than the new sport?
What do you think?

real life mpg from both 4/4 Sports I've owned is 45 - 48 mpg, the only rider I'd add is the mileage covered from full to full tank is taken from the odometer which is 'uncalibrated' ie of unknown accuracy

My 2l +4 has a running average of 40.87 with the best fill to fill figure being 48mpg. Similarly these figures based on fill to fill mileages from the ODO. I would have thought 4/4 sport would better that

The 2007 1800 duratec 4/4 we had averaged 45mpg over the year we had it based on odo readings. The Roadster 100 is averaging 29mpg so far with 31mpg over the best measured period. The heavier 3 ltr S type V6 automatic with aircon is at 25mpg over 12.5k miles so I think the Morgans win on running costs hands down.

If you wore carpet slippers and drove as if were delivering a bucket full of custard you would easily better 50mpg in a 4/4 Sport - the important point as far as I'm bothered is that you can brim the tank in the morning and drive as hard and fast as you like all day and not have to worry about re fuelling until the next day - a 500 mile range makes the 4/4 a brilliant tourer

Mind you I probably had another 7 litres to go when I couldn't bear the sight of the fuel gauge reading empty any longer

my car has a small engine (1600cc) and I dont care how many Mpg it does or doesn't do. I just fill the tank when needed and drive away. Why all this discussion on mpg? if you drive it, fuel has to go in one end and out the other, (food for cars) so give a big sigh and GO WELL, GO SHELL (sic) 
If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?

I just fill the tank when needed and drive away. I'm with you on this Ruby, I have only a vague idea of the mpg our Mog's do. All I know is that the tank is too small on the Aero's (or is my right-foot too big?  ) as we need to stop every 200-plus miles to fill the tank when we are making progress...

Same as mine, lucky if I get 28mpg but - I do enjoy it!
