Last weekend getting a dead battery by my daughter, I use a jump start cable to start and return home. But I wonder how and where the car can be pushed by hand without damage to the soft aluminium body?
I have changed the battery by a Varta D21 12V 60Ah 600A. Sizes 242*175*175mm. The height is critical, 175mm being just the limit, some "standard" batteries having a height of 190mm protude the battery access hole and the cover plate cannot be closed.

I push my Plus 8 out of the garage backwards by pushing on the top edge of the cockpit where the ash frame is just forward of the rear wheel arch that way you can steer with the other hand if you need to.
Moving it forwards I push on the spare wheel, or if at the side of the car on the dashboard crash pad, handy for steering again. In 14 years I have not noticed any adverse effects doing this, however it does remind me every time how light these cars are. I would struggle pushing either of the tin tops with one hand.

Surely there are lots of car pushing experts on the TR7 forums who could give their advice.

From my experience with past plus 8s is that a side advantage of fitting a roll over bar is that it's perfect for pushing a Mog.

Ref the TR7 dig!
That response should elicit a few comments from the wittier members of the group.
Seriously though, I have a question.
Can you bump start an EFI car if the battery is flat?
The engine would turnover but if there's no power to the ECU how would the injection and Ignition work?
I have no intention of needing to try it but I'd be interested to know just in case.

No volts means no fuel pump control etc so a waste of time bump starting.

I agree, no point trying to bump-start an EFi-equipped car.
Fortunately there's no need to either as those dinky little jumpstart batteries are cheap, easy to carry in one's toolkit, and are flippin' brilliant.

To move my Plus 4 backwards and forwards in the garage I use the nearest wheel. I also love it that I’m able to move a car that way!
