I have nothing at all against Honda engines, quite the reverse, but it's worth noting that over the last few years Stihl have switched to an engine design they call '4-mix' which is basically a 4-stroke engine that runs on 2-stroke fuel. It enables quieter engines with easier starting.

If anyone is thinking of buying any large garden equipment - ride-on mower, shredder/chipper etc, it's worth noting that Stihl are currently re-branding their Viking subsidiary to integrate it into the Stihl family. So the old Viking green and white colour scheme is being replaced by the Stihl Orange and white.

All the old green Viking kit is being sold off at reduced prices - usually at least net of VAT so there are some decent bargains to be had. Now is also a good time to buy as the dealers had had a pretty crap year, nobody's been buying kit because of the hot weather and they don't normally expect to sell much kit in the autumn.

That's good news thanks. I need a chainsaw.

This weekend a gale of wind is forecast. A blower from the south west.

I love the artistic way you've posed it for best viewpoint, John. One laying down...one standing up....and umm, well, oh, I'll just take another...

How many LPM does it do..? That's Leaves Per Minute, presumably at full chat.. And does it does it need greasing every so often..? Will it run on E10 fuel..?

We need to know..!

It gobbles them up Steve. It runs on E10 & doesn't need greasing.
It is also a trendy distressed yellow colour. Somewhere I have the front wheels for it as well.
This is a quality product.

Alistair you are comparing an electric drag a cable machine with a petrol driven beauty. Relive your youth & get the heady smell of 2 stroke as you garden.

Last time I rode a two-stroke. Now where do I start with that line.

Last time I rode a 2 stroke I needed a lid on my head and strong set of leathers. It ended in pain and some road rash. Not going there again!

I drove my mates RD350 down the new dual carriageway by pass of Newton Abbot in I guess 1976.
I used to my 200cc Honda 4 stroke.
It went like dermot but there was of course no engine braking. Combine that with a flexible frame & two leading shoe front brake & I must admit I decided they weren't for me as I hurtled towards the Penn Inn roundabout.
