Today the weather gods took a bit of a break and gave us sunshine and clouds and no rain! Today I took, for me, a well known run: Brattleboro to Bennington on Vermont Route 9. Bikers know it well. Lovely curves, elevation changes, views and watering holes. Earlier this year the State re-paved a fifteen mile section and it is pristine. I would call this Viagra for the soul. A gorgeous road that, for the most part, stays above 2,000 feet in elevation so that it always is cooler. I took it easy as I have been ticketed for speeding here (awfully easy, that) and the summer tourists are in full swing. They don't know where they're going, they're following Google Maps on their phones and they are all running low on blinker fluid.
My time will come when summer is officially over, schools are running and Fall hasn't happened, yet. The roads will be empty and I will be screaming down them with a large grin. Then Fall occurs and the State's population triples while hordes and masses come to see the leaves change once more before they die.
I was also mildly accosted by a large biker pack and picked apart for information while everyone milled around and checked the M3W out. The ladies are an interesting lot. They normally sit behind a large hairy object driving the bike and they looked at the passenger seat with just a bit of lust and envy. It was like a collective sigh... "I could so do that!"
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

The weather was pretty good yesterday so I had a run up to North Yorkshire Dales and did the Buttertubs Pass.
37 miles of a rollercoaster road, single track in a lot of places, blind crests and off camber corners.
A prefect day out for the 3 wheeler.

A few of us are exploring Dumfries and Galloway. A bit more enjoyable today than it was yesterday driving up the M6 during Storm Ali. Character building stuff!

Using the M3W pretty much every day when the sun is shining (or going to be shining). Having some lovely Autumn weather here in the Lot (south west France) but the early morning mists have started to creep up the valley. It was only 5 degrees this morning down by the Lot river, on my way to the cafe for coffee and croissant..
