Me and my son having fun this weekend. Many Morgans present, I was surprised by how the M3W was so fast in a race track. Of course we weren't racing, but we were doing a lively run.
Luckily the Aeromax slowed him down at the Parabolica, or else I'd be hopelessly left behind after a single lap
Thanks all. Estoril is indeed a fine track, one where I watched the likes of Lauda, Prost, Senna, Mansell, and many others giving it all to win, in thriling races I Can't Forget (especially 1984, when Lauda became champion by 0,5 points after an amazing back to front race (no blue flag nonsense back then).
I'm not sure current F1 would give us great races there, even with all the forced tyre changes and DRS devices. It's a flowing track, not a Tilke "huge straight to sharp corner and repeat" one.
But yes, it is always a special thing to drive your car there, where so many greats from the past did it. I imagine same must happen with you all in your respective countries, when you have the chance to do a few laps in any historic venue.
PS - Steve, it's true, you told me about Duarte. I guess the tyres squeaking gave the truth away isn't it? I was indeed barely keeping up, LOL
