I am looking to buy round wing mirrors. Can anyone recommend why I should buy convex over plain mirrors, are there any advantages or disadvantages?

For a given size of mirror, convex offers a wider field of view but at a reduced resolution and distorted depth perception. You basically see less of more. Hence "objects in mirror are closer than they appear"

I have John Taylor's mirrors, www.morganhoods.com, as in Miscellany. They have superb clarity, not overly convex and give a much better view than the standard flat ones. I've not noticed any visual 'magnifying' effects either. His latest 'ad' doesn't mention mirrors any more and I know he did a trial run of them and has recently re-located. Worth contacting him though. I think they were £23 plus p&p. Cheers

Librand´s offer is what I rely to - perfect visibilty (i did have the round/convev works mirrors before) & clean look (due to very thin frame around the glasses)
It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast.   2015 Roadster 3.7
