NO sale USD$18,000 best bid and did not meet reserve I wonder if it was the fitment of a later engine that put them off - the car looks a clean original as far as you can tell.

Bid US$ 40,000.00 with a day to go... Bidding stopped at $44,250 - reserve not met. It would have been a good buy at even $5000 more than that.

It's about three times the market value. The black and white photo came from an entertaining article in the MTWC Bulletin of about 1970 relating to a purported Yorkshire Road Race which was in fact a spoof, but which fooled a lot of people at the time. The article referred to the engine being tuned by Chaffinch Motors of Far Headingley, a firm that I understand was completely made up but which is blindly reproduced in the current advertisement! Such is life.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that without a real expert alongside me that price is just crazy.
There are some good con artists out there looking for a sucker.
