For all those who lie awake at night worrying about water ingress onto the spark plug channel, here's some good news.
Williams have just started selling a bespoke cover.
Looks lovely complete with a Plus 4 logo on it.

This is great news. My car has been immobilized twice due to drowned spark plugs. Do you know how the cover is fitted?

The cover (which is moulded carbon fibre) attaches using the pre-existing bolts on the rocker cover. I've ordered one. I'm hoping that it's going to be easy to fit.

It’s on Williams website as “engine cover plate” costing £17.94 inc. Vat. No further description, but looking at it, I cant’ fathom how its going to keep water out! Just looks to be decorative.

Is that just for the Duratec or will it fit the GDI as well?

This is the cover in-situ That looks more like what I expected, but what i saw on the website as “Engine cover plate” only looks to be the shiny bit with the logo as you can see from the earlier post. Cant think they are going to do the complete thing for less than £20. So what do they call it and how much does it really cost?? Confused!

Is there a hermetic seal against the edges of the existing rocker cover? If there is any chance of water ingress then it could even make the situation worse in that having got in, it won’t be able to easily evaporate with engine heat. Now, even more sceptical that this may be cosmetic. Looks pretty though!
