I was interested enough to go on the Morgan Website to see the pricing for the new range 110 special editions. The plus 4 looked very tempting as it has no cost options including a no cost mohair roof. Just over £44000. Expensive but not necessary to tick too many options.
I then noticed that it was without on the road costs. My research reveals that the VED in year one is £1250 pus new car fee of I think £55. Then in years 2/6 £450 per year!
Wow that’s a lot for a car which is prob only going to be driven for say 3000 Miles a year! That must have an impact on sales!

Logic tells us that will be so, it all depends on how much of an emotional pull is going on at point of sale I guess.

The only way really is just to add up the VED costs for five years and add it to the purchase price of the car. I did that with my X3 this year as my total budget.
At least my next purchase will be VED free 🤓

Effectively a luxury car tax (cars costing over £40k) for the first few years. No doubt the VED levels will change again before long...

£140 is the base VED.
I'm sure if you enquire you will find the add-on is still payable for the first few years.

£47000 for a 4/4 makes £44100 (plus ved and delivery etc) for a plus 4 110 edition almost a bargain!
