Not sure if I have understood what you mean by a "double-hooped design" Do you have any photos?
For a roll bar to be functional (ie protect the occupants in the event of a inversion) it should be braced at an angle which supports the main hoop. The only designs I have seen with 2 hoops are not braced so they will be much weaker.
Librands do a good system where you mount the lower structure to the car permanently, but the upper structure can be unbolted, however be warned, a bolted structure is not as strong as am all-welded one, and the permanent structure wil take up luggage space.

I think there was a double hoop on an old MGB design, don't think it was rated as safety device..

Please don't paste such massively long urls direct into your posts, it messes up the formatting especially for people trying to use the site on small screens like phones. Put it behind a link like this If you're worried about how something might look when you've posted it, use the 'Preview Reply' button to check first.

https://goo.gl/images/zpCVZ3Sorry for lack of clarity... I meant roll bar like on the +8 speedster... Available on cars such as mx5 but I've never seen on a +4 OK now I get your intention. This roll bar for the Speedster will only work on the Aero chassis. You cannot use it on a trad without a great deal of modification. If you really want to make one that looks like this design , them I am sure that a good fabricator of rollers can make one up for you , but as a one-off it will be expensive and possibly untested as to what happens in the event of an inversion. The other issue that I can force is the effect on the luggage space. This would be cut down to almost zero unless the fabricator can manage to create something radical without affecting it. Personally I think a roll bar should be functional rather then decorative , so I would go for the classic single hoop design with good bracing. Tried and tested in Morgans for many years.
