Given the black wheels, I think black is OK. In most cases I would go for chrome, but on your car, you get away with it, and it is something different.

I am tempted to try black headlight surrounds and a marching bonnet hinge cover. It is on my winter “shall I and jobs to do list”.
I would spray them with Plastidip or similar as it can be peeled off easily if not liked. The only issue is what else would get the treatment to match up?
Grill/mesh, wing mirrors, overriders, foglights......
At least with spray on film coatings it is straight forward to try/remove.
