get your self fitted up with a remote greasing kit then you have easier access to the grease nipples and you don't need to remove the wheels or jack the car up. Although i jack it up when i'm greasing at home and also rotate the steering wheel a few times to maximise grease circulation, not sure if this does any good but oooo! its satisfying

31k+ on original factory pins. No gaiters. De-greased annually around rebound springs. Well greased every 500 miles top & bottom. No play detectable. Key to longevity? DIY and then you KNOW it’s done right! Excellent advice - I am not sure remote grease points are the answer because it is still necessary to get mucky in wiping away surplus overspill to ensure none gets onto the brake discs. I pump 20 to 25 strokes of my Wanner gun into the top nipple and 5 into the bottom nipple. Finally a second clean up of excess grease. with wheels jacked off the ground. Then push them side to side (lock to lock) without touching the steering wheel.

+1 to Dejay. I have fitted gaiters, though. Easy DIY job, and gives additional protection to the rebounds. I strongly recommend a Wanner grease gun. Small, easy to work with in a restricted space. Has a stiff nozzle, which is a great help when you press it onto the nipple, easy to do with one hand, just holding the gun. I find a flexible nozzle a disadvantage. My car originally had straight nipples, difficult to get at. Changed them to 45 degrees angled ones, greasing is now almost effortless. Not even nescessary to turn the wheels much. Plenty Wanners on Ebay. Will last a lifetime. Filling them can be messy (no cartridge!), but what I do is filling the Wanner from the big, cumbersome, cartridge-equipped, flexible nozzle gun I bought before I saw the light....

Deejay regime is a good one. I use a steam cleaner once a year to clean up excess grease from the rebound springs. Must get round to gaiters at some time.

bmgermany: sorry no picture, but just search for Wanner grease gun on ebay. They are used, of course, but as they are of superb quality, you cannot go wrong. After being discontinued for a while I think the company started making them new again, but then they are quite expensive. Ebay is the way to go. A Wanner is small and easy to operate with only one hand, including getting it onto the nipple thanks to the rigid nozzle. But you must consider angeled nipples, easy to change.
