I noticed a sprinkling of grease coming from the inside front wheel bearing. The other side is totally clean.

I checked to see if their was any play in the wheel/wheel bearing and it was tight. And I could not detect any bearing noise.

Anyone else encountered this?

Seems to be very common Ken, on new cars at least. I just wiped off as it became less frequent.

Also could be residue from over greasing the wheel splines when mounting the wheel forces the overage to escape by any means possible.

I had it on my 2012 and during the first month of driving when everything heated up I was wondering where all the grease was coming from. Finally removed one of the wheels and there was way too much in there trying to escape!

Check out my recent Mulfab steering bearing post Ken.

I've had this exact thing on the offside front from the inner bearing.

The wheel bearing grease shouldn't be the culprit as there's a seal to prevent egress, assuming it's installed and working correctly (and you know what they say about assuming).

I'm with Michael H in that it's more likely to be wheel/hub spline grease. When I received my car the splines had been massively over greased and there was centrifugally flung residue all over the backside of the wheel and the brake rotor. Spent a pleasant afternoon with the wheels off cleaning up the front suspension then using 'just enough' anti-seize on the splines. No more mess.

I cleaned it up the mess that was on the inside of the hub and rotor. It wasn't even necessary to take off the wheel. I then gave it a blessing and will keep an eye on it in the future. Thanks for all the responses.

With these cars, thoughts and prayers are a thing. I remember back in the day taking my Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck to a blessing of the cassette decks in Southern California. I figured it couldn't hurt! I wonder whatever happened to that damn thing...

I had this issue early on. It was overpacking of the spindles. Dealer took it apart, cleaned everything and repacked with correct amount. Been fine for two years since.
