I read on the mk-holztechnik website that :

"The 2014 version of the Plus 4 is supplied with a new dashboard which for technical reasons does not allow the same possibilities for design changes than the former dashboard of this model. "

Do we know what that's all about?

I suspect that it has to do with the CAN bus system used from 04/2014.

Some elements are arranged in assemblies (e.g. buttons for heater, blower, window heater, hazard warning lights and rear fog light as well as the directly above arranged control lights) which cannot be separated so simply.

The cable lengths between the instruments are also limited. This means that instruments that are close together in their original condition cannot be arranged very far apart.

It is best to check the feasibility of the desired layout with the dealer and MK.
