My seat is doing exactly the same, and I only have ~1200 miles on mine. Took it in for it's initial service yesterday and the dealer (same one as Ken) is going to forward pictures on to Morgan for replacement. She has not heard back from them yet on Ken's request, but now there will be at least 2 identical reports of problems.

While there I looked at a 2012 M3W with the previous leather manufacture (prior to Yarwood, can't recall the name?) and there is a difference in how the seats are/were pleated. The earlier car has a slightly, but noticeable, "taller" pleat than the new cars - like there is more padding in the pleating. This causes the stitching to be further recessed in the older seat. The new car has a flatter pleat, where as the older one I looked at had a more rounded pleat. So perhaps it's the padding that is the problem rather than the stitching?

Here is a pic of my seat, with 1200 miles of time in it:

The misalignment of the pleats and stitch lines would really annoy me

Hi, I have only just seen this post, I have had the same issue with my 2016 M3W and mentioned it when I took took the car to the factory for some other warranty work. It was blamed on wear from getting in and out of the car. The leather was, I think, re-stained along the offending stitching.
I will be interested to see how they address your issue.

Welcome to TM Andrew. So they blamed you for getting in and out of the car rather than the poor leather stitching? I suppose you sat on the seats as well!!!! ooo

I finally got MMC talking to my dealer... I responded publicly on their IG site saying it’s a great car but they need to address warranty issues.

Hi

You could say that. I have lost count of the number of faults that had to be put right, but they include new clutch, paint issues, indicator issues and oil leek just to start with, so the seats just seem par for the course. To be fair the faults have been put right with no complaints, but these are supposed to be premium cars and are bought as expensive automotive toys so should be right.
Regarding the seats, the quality of the leather that is now used was discussed and pointed out to me that it is not as it used to be.
So to see how Morgan treat American customers will be interesting, I have gone back and had another look at my repaired seats and there is still a white bit at the very bottom of the backrest, not a place that would be affected by getting in and out.

Hi Ken

Having had the same seat problem and already had the car back to the factory, where the stitching was re dyed, I would be interested to know what their solution is for you. Especially if they renew your seats.
