There's a centerfield picture in miscellany of a young lady sitting on the wing of a trad. Not that sort of centrefold. I wouldn't let her sit on mine, would you?

Aluminium wings are fragile , even normal cars are very thin metal compared to classics , why would someone sit on a car anyway unless she has a bad back ??

I sometimes rest my backside on the rear wing of Tarka, but wouldn't risk doing the same on the front wing...

At a hotel in Beaumaris someone sat on the bonnet of a Morgan in the hotel car park for a photo whilst the cars were unsupervised. Left two depressions in the bonnet that a dent master had to remove.

We now avoid large hotels that do weddings!

Rich, I totally agree about "leaners", they really wind me up and I have been know to get somewhat aggressive when this happens but then again, I sometimes wonder if I should even sit in my car? oldgit

Yes Reg, I have been known to go off on one when either of these things occur I am ordinarily a very peaceful chap.

We used to take a relative out in our Golf and when we stopped and lifted the tailgate, she would always immediately sit on the back bumper. Now it's probably strong enough to take a hefty woman's backside, but you never know and scratches can easily happen.

So once the pattern was established we used blocking tactics to keep her away.......... Like a wall for an indirect free kick -says me who loathes football.

Morgan wings were designed long before the obesity crisis so maybe designed to withstand skinnny light weight leaners only innocent
