I won't ask about the background exhaust.

Very light as well.

The exhaust is nothing special, just a standard Caterham system

I was able to source an original & undamaged automatic gearbox bell housing from the correct period.

Once this has soaked in the degreasing tank over the weekend, I will clean off the grime & then like the manual bell housing, I will softly bead blast.

I'm also hoping to have update pics of the BMW shell very soon.

Curious as to why you'd want both bell housings?

New update...

Pics sent to me this afternoon, the start of the fabrication work being carried out.

Just like the Alfa Romeo roll cage, I asked for the cage to run as close as possible to the pillars of the cars shell, this is to aid visibility for the driver.

New rear interior floor sections have been made.

This shows that the rear bulk head panel & parcel shelf have been removed.

Looking good.
Still can't help thinking that would have done me as a road/commutacar (before you took it to bits!) laugh2

Yes I agree the car was it very good condition for age, but then this also meant I had a good base to build a good car

Which is what's needed.
You never did say what was wrong with the one you went all the up to Scotland to collect.
Anyway, I failed to see this car in the early stages, so will have to meander down for a look as it goes together thumbs

Basically the previous so called specialist doing the initial build, royally mucked up the shell when doing HIS own slap dash welded in roll cage. Never min, with what is planned this will turn out beautiful.

Ahh. Doesn't sound good for the earlier project!
I'm sure this new one will turn out a stunning racer smile
