Hi Richard - yes, there's a warranty. I think the problem is partly due to lower usage in the last couple of weeks. After all, the Owner's Manual has this to say:

"If the vehicle is left standing for more than 1 week then it is advised that a battery conditioner is used to maintain the battery correctly."

I think that the longest time between drives has been 5 or 6 days recently, and often using lights and heater. From what I've seen on the forum, poor battery life seems to be a "feature" of the Morgan!

Anyway, I'll contact Williams to see what they reckon too,

Cheers,

Jon.

Hi Jon,
As you say it does seem necessary to top up the battery with a float charger at least once a week on the modern (what am I saying) Morgan's. On both of the Plus 8's there has been a Red battery isolate switch which I always throw when leaving the car. This way the car will start after up to 7 weeks standing, I have never had to use a battery charger on any of my 3 cars during the 14 years. The ECU soon relearns after the break in power to it a few miles sees the car acting as per normal.

Good luck and I hope Henry sees you right, good to see you enjoy the winter in her, some of my best runs are these crisp salt free days.

Regards,

This 4/4 is the first I've had with an imobileiser light, I am going to to try to leave it connected to Portable soler panel. Don't know if this will work. Placed panel in a South faceing window.

Pete (recycled teenager) did this and it worked out fine for his Roadster Ray, his panel was roof mounted.

All the best for the recovery. The solar trick does work but of course in winter there isn't always sun.
