Colin,
I do not think you should underestimate the adulation and esteem you will be held by Morgan owners who know a Plus 8 from a Roadster. Already your few posts have provided an insight that I am sure has fascinated all readers. No need to go underground, and if you really have a zimmer I bet it is faster than when it left he factory! best wishes Tim

Colin, Whilst the name rang a bell, my knowledge of plus 8's is limited however I thoroughly concur, what an interesting and fascinating post. Please feel free, when you have time, to regale us further on what sounds like an interesting time and some great cars
Cheers

The Plus 8 in my avatar was serviced by your garage in the 1980's and at the time you advised me to have it rebuilt (properly) rather than order a new one. Unfortunately, I did not take your advice then, or even now, and have carried on buying new Mog's. Please keep the posts coming, what about some details of the original owners of the other Plus 8/450's?

Colin,
Any chance of an updated "Moggie"? I'd love to see in print more details of the reworked +8s you did.

Well, I'm almost lost for words! Thanks for all the kind comments If forum members would like the idea I can start a blog linked to TM with a few snippets from my near 50 years of Morgan ownership. I'd been slightly disinclined to get on the blog-wagon since it's a bit of a busman's holiday, my day-job being Head of Comms and Webmaster for JE Engineering. As for an updated 'Moggie' book, there is a distinct possibility, after my highly irreverent anecdotal tome presently being written! I'll post something reasonably amusing (!) later when I get home. Meanwhile, since this thread is really about CMR 450s, here's and old Motor Sport ad CMR 450 Ad Motor Sport Best regards, Colin. Hmm, there seem to be a few more pics in that lightbox! Oh well, some are reasonably appropriate!!

Just to add pressure for you to do this Colin, I notice that my own 1960 edition of Moggie (A Musgrove Rutter Production)is still me essential bed-time reading. The cover is almost worn out (TGR 926R), almost as revered is John Teague on Plus-4, but as I have migrated involuntarily to +8, I can't wait for your later wisdom. But will they be accompanied by photos of that same tall, dark, pipe-smoking luminary whose words I hung on throughout my first restoration ...? "Armed with your reamer and new set of kingpins and bushes you are ready to begin dismantling" [p 33]. Can't wait!
