This could ramble on a bit...
So if I understand correctly Morgan buy in there wheels from
Motor Wheel Service International Ltd

So the classic 6x16 Silver painted 70 spoke wire wheel is the XW5726S-TL at £164.25 + vat
http://shop.mwsint.com/product_details.asp?id=490
It's aslo available in black at £223.75, in chrome at £254.60 and in SS at £356.65.

Now Morgan offer as an option the "6.5” x 15” Black sport wire".
It would apear that this would be the XW5949-BLACK-TL 72 spoke which comes in at £561.62...

I'm will contact MWS to figure out why there is such a difference in price... but I thought I would also ask you all.

What makes this "sport" wheel so much more costly...
And consequently is it a good wheel?
Thanks again for your time...

Apart from Morgans huge profit margin, could it be that the "Sport" wheel is a curly hub?

Here for a good time not a long time!!

They both appear to be curly 42mm.
Actually if you do the math then Morgan is not selling the 6.5 x 15 sport black wire over the RRP from MWS.

Question answered by Gary from MWS

The XW5949 wires are painted stainless steel (All the wheel components are stainless steel) whereas the XW5726 is painted carbon steel – the stainless steel wheels are usually a little lighter than the carbon steel and are easier to maintain.

So there...
