Decided to clean the inside of my wheels this afternoon, got a little way laid and decided to tackle cleaning the front inner wings. Paint scraper, scrubbing pad, hot soapy water and then AFC50. Before and after pics. Tackle the other side tomorrow or Monday and then the wheels..

My Plus 8 has black under-seal over all the surfaces...
I must say, it does look good all clean and bright.
Are you going to coat with ACF 50 or go further?

I was going to coat it with AFC50 Peter. I seem to remember that mine was all bare ali when I collected. I certainly recall applying AFC50 everywhere a couple of weeks after collecting. The underside can stay sticky and black unless I get a couple weeks with nothing to do.

Mine was built in July 2013 and registered in April 2014.

PeterG,
I would be very wary of cleaning your alloy chassis to that level, as I think that the manufacturer uses a pre-treated version of alloy plate, where the surface is organically treated to both aid bonding and corrosion resistance
If you look at an Aero chassis during build-up the surface is quite matt

The shine in the picture is mainly from the camera and a LED torch. Just glad I didn't get carried away with anymore. I shall stick with DaveW's tip of a brush down from now on.

Yeah, I would wipe that over with ACF 50, and then give it a light spray of wax. I use Tectyl 506 because its a light golden brown. That's why I specced clear underseal on Tigger. It's easy just to keep it under control.

Unfortunately you can't choose clear now, you can have any colour you want - so long as it's black wink
