I must plead guilty to a bit of "flamboyant" overtaking a couple of years ago. I was behind about 6 cars that were locked behind a campervan that was coming down one of my favourite bits of twisties on a mountain pass. He was doing about 30kph (20 mph) and seemed to think it was OK to have a queue of cars behind him. He would not pull to the side despite several places where he could and as he was occupying the middle of the road most of the time noone could pass him. At a certain point there is a section of about 500 metres with a good view of the road (I know the road pretty well) . I knocked it back a couple of gears and hit both the accelerator and the horn button.

I am sure they all thought I was nuts but the manoeuvre was conducted quickly and safely. The horn served two purposes; one to ensure that no other car pulled out to overtake without checking their mirrors and the other was to let the Wally in the camper van know exactly what I thought of their lack of consideration for other road users.
