Nice bimble down to Olney and then home via Podington

Spent yesterday fitting and wiring new headlights (with sidelights) and Spotlights and happy to say nothing caught fire.....

Next week will wire in the reverse light and rear fog (used Land Rover lamps - £3 as compared to £35 for 'Morgan' ones)

I grew up in Bedfordshire, and I remember we used to go to a saddlery shop in Olney. I think there was a nice little bookshop too. Nice place anyway!

That saddlery shop was still there when last we stayed in Olney - and very good it is too. Management bought herself a pair of riding boots there.

Well, now I've got the time, and a fun car for it, I shall have to visit some of the old haunts!

It's mainly boutique/fufu lady shops. Still nice to have a wander round, and some good eateries.....

Now that is a double shame.

Loss of the saddlery plus yet another corporate coffee shop.

Isn't Olney famous for pancake racing? Presumably this tradition still goes on and can now be watched by all those drinking coffee and reminiscing about the loss of all the traditional shops!?
