It claims to have had a pancake race for 500 yrs, but I think it's only been done regularly since the 1950's....

Run around Clacton area, with the tool tray & cover removed. Now that is an interesting exercise if you want to go deaf. First thought the noise was from the brake shoes rubbing, but in fact was just tyre noise from an amazingly slow speed.

Such a lovely winters day here in Suffolk it had to be done despite a bad cold. A nice drive to B&Q for some bits & back on the back roads.

First drive of the year and a first drive with the new mats which worked well. Hoping to drive to the Swanmog Xmas bash on Sat if the weather holds.

Just found this photo of my dad's 1971 4/4 taken in 1977 from almost the same spot whilst we were on a trip out from Cherry Burton. Only two wires in place at that time and I used to watch progress as I passed under the bridge on the railway drawing into Hull. We walked across shortly after opening but not sure whether you can still do that. The Morgan wasn't bad either and certainly put me in mind to buy one many years later.

Forgot to mention ...on the bench that you can see in my photo there was a Christmas wreath tied to the arm.

Whilst I was sat there a young lady appeared to remove the wreath after 12 days of Xmas..she was very upset as it was a wreath to her dad who jumped off the Bridge a few years ago..

I sat and did my best to comfort her as she cried her eyes out !!!!

So sad.

Kev, yes, very sad but perhaps good that you were there to console her?
Dad and I did a number of trips round Yorkshire whilst my parents lived in the East Rding during the 70s. If you have any photos of Spurn Point, Fylingdales, Coxwold, Thixendale etc I might be able to match them again more than 40 years apart!
