Hi, just thought I would mention that after almost six months of patient waiting I now have a heated windscreen for my plus 8! when I collected it from the supplier he had just had two delivered and one of these already had a crack in the glass!
I am now wondering how long mine will last and if I will have to wait a further 6 months for a replacement.
I wonder if this is a record or is it just the norm and how you guys would react to loosing part of your summers driving due to very poor service, needless to say when I have to replace the screen again it will not be just the screen that will be replaced!!

Hi Will,

Because non of the experts replied I will do so, but probably not to your liking. Things like that happen with specialist cars. That's why they don't attract the masses. Those who can't live with the small shortcomings (like a cracked windscreen for some months) drive Audis, BMWs, Porsches. You take your choice...

Cheers

Will, I've had a +8 for coming up to 9 years and have to say that I have never heard of the screens having a tendency to crack.

There is a watch point on fitting them though, the two fitting bolts on each side are of unequal length, get them the wrong way round and the longer bolt will crack the screen.

(Have to disagree with Bodger, waiting 6 months for a new screen is a reason to have a hissy fit with the MMC, not a reason to buy a Beemer)

Brian

Sorry Frank, I just cannot agree with you on this.
" Specialist" should not mean sub standard. Ok, if we drive a car which is a little out ofthe ordinary, then we expect it to have litle eccentricities. We ( or at least I) don't beleive that means we put up with a standard of service which just isn't good enough

Gerwyn, I agree with you as long as it is something which hinders me to drive the car, for anything else I don't care much...and then there are those who waited 7 years just to get a new Morgan - I would have bought a TVR or Super 7 instead.

PS: In 1967 I was assured to get my new 4/4 within 4 months and in the end it took 9 months until it arrived. I still have the not too friendly correspondence with Peter Morgen, but since then I have changed my "approach" to things Morgan.
